The Artistry of Posterior Composite Restorations that Replicates Nature- TBA

Direct resins in the posterior dentition have evolved to a day to day treatment of choice which can produce a highly esthetic, functional and long lasting restoration as well as conserving sound tooth structure. The goal of this course is to introduce to the clinician some simple straightforward techniques resulting in  posterior composite  restorations that have "zero" post-op sensitivity, ideal tight  interproximal contacts, occlusion that requires very little alteration and tooth anatomy that literally emulates nature and makes the restoration disappear.

This didactic easy  to follow course will allow the participants to use the techniques learned by utilizing very simple instruments  and minimal resin shades to achieve a predictable esthetic/functional outcome Monday morning!

In the hands-on sessions, participants will have the opportunity to watch Dr. Chan walk through each skill step by step in a state of the art audio video facility while the participants work on their custom made models. Dr. Chan will demonstrate these skills with photographic examples of actual before and after composite cases.

Objectives

  • Learn adhesive techniques to achieve no post-op sensitivity with posterior composites
  • Understand polymerization shrinkage and management
  • Learn how to use sectional matrices in all class 1& 2 scenarios
  • Learn how to obtain proper interproximal contours, embrasure form and ideal proximal contacts.
  • Learn techniques and landmarks to sculpt ideal anatomic occlusal morphology with minimal adjustments
